2008 AGM - our 25th Annual General Meeting held in May - Congrats to New club President Ben Jackson on his election. Treasurer Jim B and Secretary Wayne M were re-elected. Your new committee comprises Lisa R, Nick M, Denver D and Soney C. Thanks to everyone who attended the AGM - there was some very fruitful communication. Happy 25th Anniversary runners.
At the first committee meeting (31 May) both Clare Menzies and Zoe King were appointed to the club committee. So that makes 9 people in all - with 3 energetic gals! Congrats…
Where do we eat??? Our fave breakfast spot on Saturday and Sunday mornings is the van located right in the centre of the park on Parkes Drive…. about 800m from where the club meets. they serve great coffee (a must), fab bacon and egg rolls plus lots of other goodies including muffins, sports drinks, fruit salad. Join us after any run session in the park.

a lark in the park
to help kids with HIV
The Little Black Dress Run, or LBDas we call it, is a 5K fun run through Centennial Park… but there’s something a little bit Queer about this one.
It’s more than women on the run, jocks in frocks, dragsters or feeling the “Thrill of Frill” – it’s about skirting the park to help children growing up with HIV.
The LBD Run is a 5K fun run fundraiser for Camp Goodtime- A charity based at the Sydney Children’s Hospital raising funds to care for children living with HIV. Camp Goodtime receives no Government funding.
SCH is helping kids live longer, happier & stronger lives,
but a special needs summer camp, Camp Goodtime, builds their spirit & soul.
Routine childhood illnesses can be arduous. With a compromised immune system, an every day illness, which should be easily cured, now becomes vastly more complicated. Compound this with a rigorous medication routine (which in-itself takes its toll on the body), health holding them back from fieldtrips, holidays or just backyard fun, and the fear of acceptance from school mates, all combine to make young years harder then they should be.
“Camp Goodtime provides a venue where information about the medical, social and other aspects of HIV can be shared and where new ways of coping with the virus can be learned”
This is a free event…
(as glamour should be)
… and it’s also a Fundraiser
There is no registration fee but to help the ankle biters we do ask for a Voluntary Donation on the day ($10 suggested).
Aside from looking fabulous, you can also contribute by asking and encouraging friends, family & co-workers to sponsor you.
Fundraising is easy….
First - find your Inner Woman to go “Glam” - click your heels, then say the words…
“I can help sick children attend a special summer camp”
Now who couldn’t chip in for that!?
(See how good you feel, You’re putting more life back into their life!)

Matching donations:
Double your efforts by asking your company to match your fundraising. If your employer does not offer this option, ask you contributors if their company does. Sydney Children’s Hospital has Charitable Tax Status and can provide receipts on request for this tax deductible donation.
~All money raised goes directly to Camp Goodtime.
But I haven’t got a thing to wear…
The Little Black Dress is the quintessential Cocktail Party dress – sleek yet sexy. Find your (inner woman) frock at St Vinnies, Salvos or any Second Hand clothing store – stunning numbers generally start from an outrageous $8.00
As your muse,
Think ‘Breakfast at Tiffanies’ gone slightly wrong…
And don’t forget the Accessories, the right pearls or a well placed scarf can make a train wreck look fashionable!
Prizes for best dressed
Drinks and nibbles after
Kid & Dog friendly
The Little Black Dress Run is an annual event of Sydney Frontrunners held
in conjunction with Sydney Mardi Gras – we’re one of the first athletic events of the month long Mardi Gras calendar.
Come along and make a difference to a child’s life.
It’s on Valentines Day… and yes, it’s a little queer…
but we’re kicking off Mardi Gras in style & with a good cause
