Get the glitter guns out! It’s time to get involved in Mardi Gras Parade 2010.
We need to know by 5pm Monday 25 Jan whether you would like to be involved. THAT’S THIS COMING MONDAY! Be quick!
Then you have until Sat 6 Feb to complete the Entry Form (attached) and pay your $30 entry fee.
You have two options (Rainbow run is full):-
- Join the International Frontrunners Rainbow Flag run – this is an event that pops up every four years. The original Gay Games flag will be shipped to Sydney and we get to head the Sports section marching entry of the parade. We have 14 volunteers (wearing club uniforms) members to carry the flag, carry placards with prior host cities of Gay games and one or two to assist/support the others. - Join the Team Sydney choreographed marching entry (You’ll dress up OR down in a hot team outfit we devise. This is the party section – extroverts wanted! We’ll rehearse our steps on Saturday mornings in the park just after breakfast. There will be one compulsory rehearsal for the entire Team Sydney entry on Sat 20 Feb 4pm-8pm).
- Join the Team Sydney entry as a free-walker (You’ll dress up OR down in the same hot team outfit our choreographed marchers wear however you will not need to rehearse the steps. Instead you will walk on either side of the marchers, exciting the crowd and running water to our marchers.
We’d love you to get involved and have a great Mardi Gras 2010. Friends are welcome too. The Rainbow flag is an important stage of the journey around the world as it heads to Cologne for the Opening Ceremony on July 31.
