Code of Conduct policy as endorsed at the AGM 14 July 2018
Introduction
This code of conduct sets out what the Sydney Frontrunners (SFR) considers to be an acceptable standard of behaviour and conduct. It explains how SFR expects its members and their guests to behave in attending any SFR activities and/or events.
Codes of conduct encourage commitment to ethical and professional behaviour and outline principles and values on which clubs or organisations are based. They are an integral part of any sporting organisation. They set a standard of behaviour that helps build a club or organisation’s culture and make it easier to deal with conduct and behaviour issues as they arise.
Codes of conduct set expectations for everyone involved – from committee members, coaches and officials, to runners and supporters.
SFR is a community sports club with the following objectives:

To promote SFR as a social, friendly and inclusive club providing value for money to all those eligible for membership, encouraging them to join SFR;

To promote and offer the members a wide range of sporting and social benefits such as, but not limited to, regular coaching and training sessions, various social events, annual Christmas social bbq/picnic event;

To provide a safe environment for the conduct of any SFR-related activity;
-
To co-operate with any other club having objectives similar to those of SFR, and formed for the purpose of fostering and promoting activities similar to SFR;

To raise, collect, hold and expend monies for the furtherance of any of SFR’s objectives; and
-
To promote running and walking as a healthy lifestyle choice.
All members of SFR shall be bound by this Code of Conduct.
Members have a right to:

Be treated fairly, equally and with respect by SFR, its committee (the “SFR Committee”) and other SFR members;

Socialise in an environment free from all forms of harassment, discrimination and bullying;

Privacy and confidentiality concerning records, documentation and any other communication containing a member’s personal information, unless consent is otherwise provided;

Be informed and actively involved in all SFR events and offerings; and
-
Voice their opinions, requirements and suggestions to the SFR Committee, who will treat such opinions, requirements and suggestions as confidential and who undertake to fully investigate and/or consider any such opinions, requirements and suggestions. Members who wish to voice an opinion, requirement or suggestion can either speak to a member of the SFR Committee or contact the SFR Committee by email via the “Contact Us” page on the SFR website.
Members must:

Treat other members, guests, staff of venues and other patrons (where an SFR social event is being held) fairly, equally and with respect and courtesy;

Behave responsibly and ensure they conduct themselves in a manner which will not injure the reputation of SFR, its events, organisers, participants or sponsors;

Not physically or verbally harass or abuse others;

Report any inappropriate behaviour of a member to the SFR Committee for action and follow up;

Not use their membership privileges to purchase tickets to any event or other offering, at a membership price, for non-members of SFR (except where specifically authorised to do so by the SFR Committee in respect of certain social events);

Pay any fees in relation to an SFR event, or offering (e.g. tickets or memberships) which that member has committed to, regardless of whether the member attends the event or not; and

Abide by and uphold this Code of Conduct.
In the event of a breach of this Code of Conduct:

Any member not behaving in accordance with the terms of this Code of Conduct at any SFR event or activity may be asked to leave such event or activity and will not be entitled to a refund of any monies paid.

The inappropriate behaviour of any members will be investigated and discussed by the SFR Committee and, after due consideration by the SFR Committee, an appropriate course of action will be taken by the SFR Committee, which may include a reprimand, suspension or revocation of SFR membership.

Members will be given a right of reply in the event of claims this code has been breached.
