SYDNEY FRONTRUNNERS WARMS UP FOR SUMMER.
Sydney Frontrunners invites you to their Open Day on Saturday 8 th October in Centennial Park.
The club is 33 years young and it’s a growing hub for runners and walkers of all abilities who come together and combine their sport within a welcoming and safe social environment.
SFR President Rob Roelofs is very proud of all the changes made in the last two years. “We have four different runs and walks each Saturday plus two other runs during the week. Each session has a run leader and we have a buddy system making sure everyone will be looked after. On Monday night we have a training session for those wishing to improve their skills under the guidance of a coach. Everyone is welcome.”
The social aspect is very important. The club arranges hikes, participates in fun-runs and is currently organising a trip to Melbourne to compete in City2Sea. Throughout the year there are dinners, drinks, movie-
nights and fundraising activities, so lots to do to meet other like-minded people.
If you are interested in joining the Frontrunners come along – there is a 5K at 8.30am, and 8K at 8am in the park, or for hardy runners a 12K which starts at 7.30am and goes to Bronte beach.
Just starting out? Want to improve your health? The club has a walking group that circles the park starting at 8am. All runs/walks commence from the centre of Centennial Park at the kiosk next to the Duck Pond on
Parkes Drive. We all finish in the same spot and enjoy a coffee and something to eat afterwards.
