We invite you to join us for the new International Gala Awards Dinner, welcoming and celebrating the Federation of Gay Games Annual Assembly here in Sydney.
For the first time in sixteen years, Sydney will host the International Annual General Assembly of the Federation of Gay Games with up to 100 delegates from over 20 countries.
Represent your sport, club or organisation at this unique event and have the opportunity to mingle with gay Olympians, national and international LGBTIQ sporting peers. Plus support the gay and lesbian sporting clubs of Sydney.
Joining us for the evening and looking forward to meeting YOU are prominent gay and lesbian Olympians, including:
- Matt Mitcham (Diving & current Olympian TV commentator),
- Michelle Ferris (Track Cycling),
- Ji Wallace (Trampoline),
- Michelle Heyman (Soccer),
- Daniel Kowalski (Swimming)
- Shelley Gorman (Basketball),
- As well Australian international sports star, Alex Blackwell (Australian National Cricket Team).
Our special guest speaker is the Hon Michael Kirby AC, CMG, always guaranteed to deliver an informative and entertaining address, as he did at the opening ceremony of the Gay Games in Sydney 2002.
Our MC for the evening is the amazing former ABC radio presenter, journalist, comedian, political commentator and TV host Julie McCrossin. Julie gets people talking and she is renowned for her warmth, humour, intelligence and commitment to social justice; qualities that will certainly be needed to lead the ceremonies of this entertainment packed dinner.
Included in the night will be performances by the outstanding Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir, who have represented Sydney on the national and international stage for a number of years and the presentation of the 2016 Federation of Gay Games Legacy Awards.
