Rise this Mardi Gras with Sydney Frontrunners.

Registrations are closing SOON for this unique Mardi Gras celebration. 

You're encouraged to apply to march with Sydney Frontrunners at the Sydney Cricket Ground. While there won't be any dance routine this year, we'll be creating dynamic props ahead of the big night. Participants will need to commit time to helping us look fabulous.

Sydney Frontrunners and the 2021 theme

The 2021 Parade will take inspiration from its past and move away from large floats, focusing instead on the outlandish pageantry of vibrant costumes, puppetry and props that made it such a phenomenon in its earliest years.

2021’s Mardi Gras Festival theme is 'Rise’, letting our spirits soar after the challenge and hardship that 2020 presented.

Sydney Frontrunners will march in our club uniforms, with participants encouraged to wear rainbow accessories such as socks and capes and body paint. We'll be carrying our banner, and participants will be holding 'shoe torches', large coloured poles decorated with coloured running shoes -- an eye catching sight from the stands above. 

Commitment

Participants will be required to spend one or two sessions in a creative workshop helping build our props. There is no dance routine this year. 

There is no additional cost to participants this year. The club will use a modest Mardi Gras budget. 

There are limited spots left. Members who have already expressed interest will be included in the confirmed list of marchers.
